Perennials

We grow a wide and varied selection of these ever popular plants, mostly in good sized 2 litre (6inch) pots that are bright yellow (so you really cant miss them!) In our selection you will find Perennials that flower through many different months of the year, a wide range of colours and suitability for situations from full sun through to shade - not to mention colourful ground cover!

We have gone into a little more detail featuring a few of our favourite types below.

  • Achillea

  • Achilleas have distinctive large flattened flower heads that appear throughout the summer months, they are very tolerant and easy to grow coming in a range of colours. A very reliable group of plants.

  • These are the 'Michaelmas Daisy' type of Perennial enjoying something of a resurgence in popularity recently. We grow a selection of lower growing ones that will fill your garden with late season colour - and give good ground cover!

  • Astilbe

  • Hemerocallis (Day Lily)
    Hemerocallis (Day Lily)
  • Grown for their striking plume-like flower spikes that appear during the summer months. Astilbes do well in rich moisture retaining soil and look especially good planted at the edge of water.

  • The flowers of the day lily may only last for one day - but they just keep coming! We try to keep a good selection of these beauties in a range of colours including some more unusual ones you wont find in any garden centre!

  • Hardy Geranium

  • Really popular, hardy geraniums have a long flowering season, are easy to grow, come in many colours, and make great ground cover. We keep a good stock of these but they do still tend to sell out!

  • These are one of our firm favourites, we stock the more common varieties like Mrs Bradshaw and Lady Stratheden but also some delightful less common ones like 'Bell Bank' and 'Lisanne'

  • Iris

  • With their slender grass like foliage and brightly coloured flowers appearing from late spring Iris have become very popular in recent years, especially with unusual colours like 'Chrysographes black' and 'Butter and Sugar'

  • These cheerful perennials have an enduring popularity in English gardens, the classic partner to Roses and many more, the grey foliage and lavender blue flowers go so well with so many other plants!

  • Phlox

  • Rudbeckia

  • Few perennials come in such a kaleidoscope of colours and combinations, Phlox paniculata is a classic 'Cottage Garden' plant, we usually have a range of colours from cool whites and blues through to bright reds, pinks and mauves

  • These reliable perennials deserve to be a staple in any garden, their bright daisy like flowers will delight later in the season bringing valuable autumn colour long after many other plants have finished flowering.
